In 2002 Kelly Barnhill recognized the
dire need for nutrition education and intervention for children with autism and
related disorders, and began coursework and certification in nutrition. She
completed certification in 2005, and now provides nutritional counseling and
consultation in conjunction with Thoughtful House. She has been involved as an
advocate for children with special needs throughout the United States, and has
counseled families affected with autism for over five years. Her studies and
work at Thoughtful House are the culmination of many years' effort and
expertise, the past six devoted to understanding the biological underpinnings of
the disorder we know as autism. Her groundbreaking work has raised awareness of
and services for children with autism and related disorders.
