Kirsten Bell, RD

Kirsten Bell, RD is a registered dietitian who has been working at Thoughtful House to meet the special dietary needs of children with developmental delays and disorders since 2008.

She attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she completed a coordinated program in dietetics and received a Bachelors of Science degree in nutrition. Kirsten’s past clinical and community experience includes rotations at University Medical Center Brackenridge and Seton hospitals, the Texas NeuroRehab Center, AISD foodservice, American Botanical Council, and the Dell Children’s Lab School at the University of Texas at Austin. Kirsten has also provided nutrition education for participants of the WIC program and helped to develop recipes for the Sustainable Foods Center of Austin cookbook. Kirsten currently provides guidance and education through supervision of dietetic and nutrition students in the coordinated program at the University of Texas at Austin as well as speaking for the University’s chapter of the Student Dietetic Association.

Kirsten provides dietary guidance for overall health and nutrition for both adults and children. Through her work at Thoughtful House and in attending DAN (Defeat Autism Now) nutrition seminars, she has experience in gluten free and casein free dietary protocols, the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, Low Oxalate Diet, IgG reactive food avoidance, Body Ecology Diet, and elemental dietary protocols.
